Lexington, Kentucky, United States Groups: recover together. Full time
Position Overview

Groups Recover Together is a leading outpatient provider specializing in addiction medicine, dedicated to offering extensive outpatient care for individuals battling opioid addiction. Our treatment philosophy emphasizes that recovery encompasses various life aspects that extend beyond traditional office visits. Our comprehensive care model integrates three essential modalities: medication management, weekly group therapy sessions, and personalized care navigation. We are committed to delivering high-quality clinical support and collaborative assistance necessary for individuals to rebuild a fulfilling, sober life.

Key Responsibilities

As a Counselor at Groups Recover Together, you will play a pivotal role in our organization.

If you are passionate about facilitating group therapy, this position is tailored for you. At Groups, we challenge conventional industry practices. You will not be expected to manage every aspect of care for your clients independently. In this role, you will be integral to a multidisciplinary care team that includes prescribers, care navigators, peer recovery coaches, and administrative staff. Together, we provide a holistic clinical approach grounded in the belief that counseling, medication, and community support are vital for achieving lasting recovery. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the treatment team, serving as the authority on addiction and recovery, and coordinating treatment decisions for clients.
  • Managing a caseload and schedule that aligns with the office's needs while enhancing your clinical expertise.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure a cohesive clinical service model.
  • Conducting 2-3 one-hour group therapy sessions focused on developing recovery skills and fostering community, utilizing our established curriculum.
  • Documenting client progress through outcome measures and client feedback.
  • Engaging in community outreach initiatives, including:
    • Distributing informational materials to community stakeholders to promote Groups and its mission.
    • Participating in community meetings related to substance use and addiction issues.
We offer a range of benefits for our team members, including:
  • No mandatory one-on-one sessions or intake assessments, allowing you to focus on leading groups using your counseling expertise.
  • A balanced work-life dynamic with flexible scheduling tailored to your needs and those of our clients.
  • Competitive compensation along with a generous paid time off policy.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, dental, 401k with matching contributions, HSA, FSA, and paid parental leave.
  • Investment in your professional growth with paid training time and an annual stipend for continuing education.
  • A transparent career advancement path based on performance, with a commitment to equipping counselors with the necessary tools for progression within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Active behavioral health licensure in Kentucky, including but not limited to: LCSW, LPP, LMHC, LPCC, LPC, LCADC, with the willingness to obtain licensure reciprocity in other states.
  • A minimum of two years of experience leading group therapy in a substance use disorder setting.
  • High proficiency with technology, including EMR systems, telehealth platforms, and Google applications.
  • Demonstrated compassion, teamwork, dedication to quality care, and a commitment to client success.
  • Availability to work 2-3 evenings per week as required.
  • Preferred backgrounds include experience in mental health, social work, substance use disorder treatment, therapy, human services, or medication-assisted treatment.
