The role of the Dispute Customer Service Representative involves managing and resolving customer chargeback issues. This position requires thorough transaction analysis, strong analytical capabilities, and meticulous documentation of all actions taken, including communications with merchants and cardholders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct detailed research to resolve customer disputes, applying relevant banking and card industry regulations.
  2. Compile and analyze data on chargebacks to identify trends and enhance overall customer service.
  3. Process chargeback and reversal requests for multiple dispute reason codes, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  4. Organize and evaluate transaction data to determine the validity of disputed charges, making necessary adjustments to accounts.
  5. Assist in categorizing pending requests into appropriate workflows based on complexity and type.
  6. Develop a foundational understanding of federal regulations and card brand specifics through ongoing training and research.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • No prior relevant experience necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of experience in dispute resolution within the payment processing industry.

Skills and Knowledge:

Ability to acquire and apply job-related skills while adhering to company policies and procedures. The role involves routine assignments requiring limited decision-making, with close supervision provided.
