Clinical Nurse Manager

Position Overview:
This role entails comprehensive oversight of Health Information Management (HIM) within the healthcare system, encompassing the planning, organization, staffing, direction, and control of HIM operations.
Ensures adherence to regulations and advocates for best practices and education in coding, documentation, and legal health records.
Key Responsibilities:
Health Information Management:
Oversee all HIM functions, including chart analysis, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), coding, revenue integrity, regulatory services, document management, chart correction, forms management, and audits.
Provide leadership and direction to ensure effective and efficient processes that support the health system's HIM functions while ensuring compliance with state and JCAHO regulations.
Leadership:
Inspire and guide team members towards achieving the organization's vision, mission, and objectives.
Foster an inclusive environment that promotes the development of staff, encourages teamwork, and supports constructive conflict resolution.
Engage the workforce by building a commitment to excellence and promoting the organization's vision both internally and externally. Delegate responsibilities, clarify expectations, and hold team members accountable for results. Lead with transparency and manage sensitive information appropriately.Change Management:
Act as a catalyst for organizational transformation. Influence others to convert vision into actionable strategies. Drive strategic change within the organization to achieve its goals. Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Hospital Administration, or a related field.
Licensure/Certification:
- Registered as a Records Administrator (RRA) by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
Professional Experience:
- A minimum of ten (10) years in the healthcare sector with responsibilities related to health information management, including seven (7) years in a supervisory capacity.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in applying principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies relevant to specialized expertise. Capable of analyzing and evaluating medical records and data while applying established standards and regulations to operational challenges. Skilled in developing and implementing new systems and procedures to enhance medical record maintenance and content. Ability to plan, assign, and supervise subordinate staff effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal abilities.
