Job Title: Payment Operations Manager

The Payment Operations Manager will oversee the resources and processes associated with settlement and reconciliation operations within the business. This role involves ensuring the compliance, accuracy, and efficiency of settlement practices, managing a team, and collaborating with various departments to optimize day-to-day operations.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Oversee daily settlement operations to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Manage and direct the Settlement Operations team members performing account settlement, set-up, and verification.
  • Handle ACH origination responsibilities and incoming return item handling.
  • Manage and direct settlement business analysts on supporting settlement research via databases; handle escalated settlement issues and provide effective resolutions.
  • Work in conjunction with project management teams on supporting clients from a settlement perspective.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and resolve any issues.
  • Monitor and analyze settlement data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Drive change from a leadership perspective to implement automated systems and streamline existing processes to create a more efficient and effective department.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Prepare and present reports on settlement operations to senior management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in settlement operations.
  • Participate in special projects as required to support new products for the Company from a settlement operations and support perspective.
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or 10 or more years of comparable experience.
  • Proven experience in settlement operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to identify cause and effect and communicate results in a structured manner.
  • Proficiency in settlement systems and software.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to settlement operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills.
