Overview: Become a vital member of a diverse team that provides enterprise infrastructure solutions for a global workforce engaged in various missions supporting our Nation's defense. This role is part of the Enterprise Infrastructure Services organization, which manages the backbone platform for all enterprise users.

Currently, Markon is seeking a dedicated and skilled Linux System Engineer to contribute to our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and implementation of Linux-based software and hardware systems.
  • Configure systems to align with operational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and change management records.
  • Collaborate with team members to create applications tailored for clients.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to users.
  • Automate tasks through scripting.
  • Facilitate account creation processes.
  • Be available for late shifts during maintenance periods and cover a 6am-6pm schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess a TS/SCI clearance with full scope polygraph.
  • A minimum of 20 years of experience in systems engineering within programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity.
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution is required (may be waived).
  • Proficient in Linux scripting and installation of software and hardware.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze user requirements and high-level system architectures to derive system specifications.
  • Support the planning and testing phases of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process.
  • Provide technical guidance for the development, engineering, integration, and testing of hardware/software systems.
  • Configure and manage Linux operating systems, install software, and maintain network components while addressing all assigned service tickets.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must hold a current/active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate must be capable of moving, carrying, and delivering workstations within the office environment. The role requires the ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients through various channels.
