This role is part of the Enterprise Infrastructure Services organization, which oversees critical information technology systems.

Currently, Markon is seeking a dedicated and skilled Linux System Engineer to enhance our operational capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design and implementation of Linux-based software and hardware systems.
  • Configure systems to align with organizational operational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and change management records.
  • Collaborate with team members to create applications tailored for clients.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients.
  • Automate tasks through scripting.
  • Facilitate account creation processes.
  • Be available for extended hours during maintenance windows and cover operational shifts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with full scope polygraph.
  • A minimum of 20 years of experience in systems engineering for programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity.
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution is preferred (may be waived).
  • Proficient in Linux scripting and installation of software and hardware.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze user requirements and high-level system architectures to formulate system specifications.
  • Support the planning and testing phases of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process.
  • Provide technical guidance for the development, engineering, integration, and testing of hardware/software systems.
  • Configure and manage Linux operating systems, ensuring the integrity of network components and addressing all assigned service tickets.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess a current/active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate must be capable of moving, carrying, and delivering workstations within the office environment. The individual must be able to remain stationary for approximately 50% of the time and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
