Position Overview

As a Licensing and Syndication Associate Producer, you will collaborate closely with producers to support various facets of NBC News longform content management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage media organization for editing processes
  • Develop a comprehensive Rights and Clearances spreadsheet, categorizing footage and images
  • Conduct thorough research and verification of story elements in current productions, including liaising with legal representatives, reviewing court documents, and reaching out to interviewees for updated insights
  • Contribute to the scripting of legal and narrative revisions
  • Engage in filming and editing tasks as directed
  • Coordinate efforts with technical teams, operational staff, and external partners
  • Investigate and acquire archival footage for story enhancements
  • Review episodes to ensure quality standards
  • Revise scripts and maintain archival documentation
  • Prepare Music Cue Sheets

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of editorial production experience in longform programming for network or cable environments
  • A Bachelor's degree is required
  • Proficiency in quickly learning various applications and software, including INEWS, Airtable, and Media Central

Preferred Attributes:

  • Familiarity with NBC News Policies, Guidelines, and Practices
  • Proven interest and knowledge in true crime, news, and current affairs
  • Exceptional journalistic writing, research, and editorial skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication abilities
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members regarding story developments and updates
  • Experience with non-linear editing systems, particularly Avid, is advantageous but not mandatory

Employment Benefits:

  • Eligible for 401K after 1,000 hours worked within a 12-month period

Note: This is a temporary position with an estimated duration of 6 months, subject to change based on project deliverables.

Work Arrangement: This position is designated as hybrid, typically requiring in-office attendance a minimum of 3 days per week.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000
