CBS MORNINGS is seeking a hard-working, creative, and enterprising Associate Producer with strong research skills and proven writing experience to join our team

The ideal candidate will have a firm command of journalistic standards, a keen attention to detail, and excellent newsgathering and researching skills. They must also be calm and efficient during breaking news and a collaborative member of a newsroom. This role is responsible for helping produce day-of-air live segments about news and culture topics. A standout candidate for this opportunity will understand how visual graphics and elements help bring a live segment to life.



Additional duties include:
  • Exercise editorial judgment in selection of content
  • Write copy and questions for anchors and contributors for news and culture segments
  • Find and choose elements for news and culture segments and work with editors to get those elements cut
  • Know where to find and how to pull specific video and soundbites


Requirements:
  • 3 or more years work experience in TV news
  • Live segment producing experience
  • Experience operating cameras and shooting pieces
  • Experience editing
  • Must possess a driver's license and be willing to drive
  • Must be willing to work a full time in-office position Monday - Friday 2pm -10pm with room for flexibility.

  • Strong research skills and familiarity with public and private records databases, such as Lexis Nexis

Hiring Salary Range: $60, ,

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
