About the Team and the Role:
The Global Business Selling team, part of eBay's Global Markets organization, is tasked with assisting sellers in launching and expanding their businesses on our platform. We deliver a compelling value proposition that attracts new sellers and retains existing ones, ranging from small entrepreneurs to large global brands. We collaborate with various teams across the organization to advance our strategic objectives, fulfill our commitments, and instill confidence in sellers to thrive, be profitable, and feel secure on our marketplace.
Our team embodies a dual mindset: first, as strategic leaders with a profound understanding of the dynamics of two-sided marketplaces and how to unlock value through the success of our business sellers; second, as agile operators who are willing to engage hands-on. We are adaptable to business priorities — 'general athletes' who learn swiftly and drive progress while passionately advocating for the sellers we support.
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives for the Global Business Selling team. This position will report to the head of Global Business and US Consumer Seller Strategy. The successful candidate will lead multiple initiatives, initially focusing on enhancing seller sentiment and designing the value proposition that best serves them. This role is designed to evolve in response to the needs of our sellers and business priorities — it may not be suitable for everyone. It is ideal for individuals who excel in dynamic, project-oriented environments and value exposure to a wide array of cross-functional partners. You will develop functional, market, and vertical expertise through deep collaboration with related teams, gaining a comprehensive business perspective throughout your work.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Identify customer needs that drive seller favorability while being sensitive to market dynamics, and establish clear priorities to address those needs. Understand eBay's strategic and competitive positioning and build a case for change. Evolve our approach to engaging with sellers.
- Influence roadmap development and support the successful delivery of outcomes across product, marketing, trust, regulatory, and seller operations. Cultivate support and momentum among internal partners.
- Inform and align on go-to-market strategies to reinforce, raise awareness of, and encourage adoption of the value proposition — collaborating with product, product marketing, channels, operations, and legal.
- Define and manage reporting against key performance indicators for initiatives under your purview.

What You Will Bring:
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity in ecommerce, marketplaces, and technology, coupled with empathy and a natural instinct to assist our sellers in solving their challenges. Experience as a seller (casually or otherwise) is advantageous.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- A cooperative and candid approach, capable of influencing cross-functional partners through domain expertise, high-quality work, and strong relationships.
- Contributions to the culture and cohesion of your immediate and extended team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years at a top-tier management consulting firm, investment bank, or a related business strategy role within a major corporation.
- Prior experience managing end-to-end ecommerce experiences, utilizing metrics such as NPS, conversion funnels, and financial outcomes.
- BA/BS degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or similar advanced degree.
- A passion for selling on marketplace platforms.
Geo / Travel:
- Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.
The compensation range for this position is competitive and will be based on various individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional elements, such as bonuses and stock options, along with a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
