Automotive Service Consultant

The Automotive Service Consultant serves as the pivotal communication link for service and repair operations, acting as the intermediary between clients and technicians.

As the primary contact for all automotive service and repair inquiries, the Consultant must actively listen to and comprehend customer concerns, coordinate suitable service or repairs, and set/manage expectations for both customers and technicians regarding service delivery. They ensure that customers are informed about necessary repairs and recommended maintenance.

The ideal candidate will possess some post-secondary automotive education or relevant experience, a minimum of one year in a dealership or large facility environment, a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and a proven track record in technical and customer service excellence.

Candidates should thrive in a dynamic team setting, exhibit a positive demeanor, maintain a professional appearance, possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule service appointments for customers, either in person or via phone, to ensure prompt and accurate diagnosis of issues.
  • Provide repair recommendations and oversee the delivery of services by managing customer expectations.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is complete and complies with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in all staff meetings, training sessions, and educational programs as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience is advantageous.
  • At least one year of experience in a dealership or large facility is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Professional and tidy appearance.
  • Friendly demeanor and outgoing personality.
  • Dependable and professional.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Proficient in computer and internet usage.
