We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Physician Assistant to join our Interventional Pain Management Clinic in Southern Pines, NC.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will be an independent problem-solver who communicates and works well with all levels of management, physicians, clinicians, related support staff, and patients.
Key Responsibilities- Meet with new patients to orient them about services, to identify needs, and to suggest treatments.
- See ambulatory patients in the pain management clinic for laboratory testing, examination, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic pain.
- Write prescriptions and perform office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and equipment.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans.
- Schedule follow-up visits in office or unit as needed.
- Perform physical examinations.
- Prescribe medications and adjust dosages as necessary.
- Provide patient education on pain management techniques and lifestyle modifications.
- Act as a resource person for decisions, planning, and policies affecting the health of patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Collaborate with staff to identify patients' needs and to help develop plans to meet those needs.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant license.
- 2+ years' experience as a Physician Assistant.
- Familiarity with EHR/EMR programs.
- Experience in pain management or similar field desired, but not required.
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and time management skills.
