This role also involves contributing to project teams for larger clients and engaging in various HR-related initiatives, including delivering software training sessions.

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Human Resources Consultant is responsible for creating Affirmative Action Plans (AAP) and associated reports for small to mid-sized clients.

This position also provides consulting services on Affirmative Action matters, collaborates on projects for larger clients, and facilitates training related to software applications.


Primary Duties


- Develops multiple client contracts to produce Affirmative Action Plans, EEO-1 reports, VETS-4212 reports, and other government-required documentation for small and mid-sized employers, ensuring adherence to profitability and quality standards while maintaining a focus on customer service.


- Onboards new small AAP clients according to established procedures, outlining data and compliance requirements as well as the AAP development process.


- Provides comprehensive consulting and insights on Affirmative Action principles, the AAP development process, and outcomes through regular communication and plan review meetings.


- Prepares audit Affirmative Action Plans under the guidance of the Managing Consultant or Audit Advisor.


- Assists senior HR Consultants in completing assigned tasks for consulting projects involving more than 15 plans.


- Conducts balanceAAP Collaborative Plan Development training sessions.


Documentation and Reporting


- Maintains accurate records of work progress and relevant information using internal account and project management tools as necessary.


Required Skills

- Familiarity with affirmative action principles and regulations is preferred.
- Knowledge of human resources concepts and federal and state employment laws is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is required.
- Experience with balanceAAP or similar AAP software is preferred.
- Competence in using general office equipment is necessary.
- Strong organizational and project management skills are essential.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.
- Strong customer service orientation is a must.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines are critical.
- Capability to work with minimal supervision is required.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on tact and discretion are necessary.
- Proficiency in performing arithmetic calculations is required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with affirmative action principles and regulations is preferred.
- Experience with balanceAAP or similar AAP software is preferred.

Experience Requirements

- A minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources, with a working knowledge of affirmative action principles and regulations preferred. Alternatively, one year of successful experience as a Senior Client Project Analyst at Berkshire Associates Inc. may be considered.

Educational Background

- A Bachelor's degree in human resources is preferred. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of education required.

Travel Requirements

- Occasional travel of up to 10% may be necessary.
