About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Medical Assistant to join our team at Texas Oncology. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians and clinicians in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and clinicians with patient care duties, including exams, procedures, and administrative tasks.
  • Promote efficient patient flow and patient care, ensuring a seamless experience for our patients.
  • Perform various clinical and administrative tasks, including phlebotomy, medication administration, and data entry.
  • Support and adhere to our US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
  • Collaborate with our team to maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to OSHA and universal precautions.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants strongly preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant strongly preferred.

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
