KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Organize and lead Advisory Board Meetings to address externship issues, monitor student progress, evaluate outcomes, and ensure community satisfaction is communicated effectively.
  • Develop meeting agendas, facilitate discussions, and document minutes for future reference.
  • Review and recommend updates to curriculum and textbooks during program revision periods to enhance educational quality.
  • Collaborate with Career Services to maintain consistent communication with externship sites and oversee the evaluation of students' clinical experiences.
  • Support the onboarding process for new faculty and provide mentorship to the teaching team.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of educational supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor and report on graduate certification pass rates as needed.
  • Contribute to the annual revision of the Program Effectiveness Plan (PEP).
TEACHING DUTIES:
  • Create and implement tailored lesson plans across various subjects, utilizing diverse teaching methodologies to cater to different learning preferences.
  • Design instructional strategies to meet specific educational objectives based on student requirements and established curriculum standards.
  • Engage in student recruitment, registration, and placement initiatives.
  • Assess and grade student assignments and projects within a timely manner.
  • Address academic or behavioral concerns with students promptly and communicate with relevant faculty members.
  • Maintain regular office hours for student advisement and support.
  • Oversee students during their externship experiences.
  • Continuously review and propose updates to course materials, including syllabi and assignments.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, advisory board sessions, professional development workshops, and graduation ceremonies.
  • Complete necessary documentation for student records, attendance, and incident reports.
  • Coordinate guest lectures, community service activities, and visits to healthcare facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols for all students and staff.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate Degree from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training, or a minimum of three years of relevant experience for instructors lacking formal accreditation.
  • At least three years of full-time practical experience in a healthcare setting, including experience in an ambulatory care environment.
  • Experience in classroom instruction.
CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered certification from a nationally recognized certifying body (CMA or RMA).
  • Additional licenses or certifications may be required based on local, state, and federal regulations.
