Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate patient activities to facilitate rehabilitation and promote health.
  • Organize and conduct music, art, recreation, or other therapy programs, depending on specialty.
  • Direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance.
  • Facilitate the learning of skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity.
Requirements:
  • Education: Degree in Recreation, Music, Art, or appropriate program required.
  • Credentials: Art Therapy National Art Therapy Credentials Board or State of California Registration with the California Board of Behavioral Science; Music/Recreation Therapy Credentials: Board certification required.
  • Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience in psychiatric setting preferred.
