Music Therapist

Cortica is seeking a part-time Music Therapist to join its growing multi-disciplinary team at our Torrance center in CA. As a Music Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping children with neurodevelopmental differences achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Establish music therapy treatment goals following assessment process (parent interview, assessment review, and dynamic evaluation)
Consult closely with multi-disciplinary team members to create collaborative treatment plans and integrative strategies
Provide individual therapy sessions as well as group and/or co-treats with other disciplines as therapeutically appropriate
Maintain patient records, documentation, and appropriate billing in accordance with federal and state regulations and company policy to ensure excellent standard of care
Design musical interventions to promote nonmusical treatment goals in sensorimotor, communicative, cognitive skills, and social-emotional domains while considering an individual's sensory processing and regulation
Facilitate functional and stimulating experiences to target and achieve individualized goals
Collaborate with the individual and family to understand their values, interests, and goals
Implement programming that considers all aspects of the child, inclusive of, but not limited to sensorimotor, cognitive, communicative, recreational, and social activities
Contribute to program development
Educate patients, families, team members, and caregivers on home programs that complement treatment
Requirements
Board certification through CBMT, resulting in the credential "Music Therapist-Board Certified" (MT-BC)
Bachelor's degree and some experience working as an MT-BC directly with children
Proficient musical ability on guitar, piano, and voice
Excellent clinical skills
Desire to work in a multi-disciplinary clinical setting
Flexibility and openness to learning
Appreciation for a wide range of therapeutic approaches
Passion for working with children
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information
Skilled at using software and systems including electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office products
Compensation & Benefits
Cortica offers a competitive compensation package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching and rapid vesting, paid holidays and wellness days, life insurance, disability insurance options, tuition reimbursements for professional development and continuing education, and referral bonuses. The base pay range for this opening is $31.07/hr to $38.84/hr, depending on skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location.
