Job Description

Position Title: Shipping Clerk

Department: Shipping

Area: Quality Department

Position Overview: Responsible for executing packaging and shipping tasks along with all related activities for shipments directed to the Department of Defense.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of the Production Control Manager, organizes and oversees daily operations related to the packaging and shipping of orders sent to various Department of Defense locations.
  • Conducts all shipping and inventory transactions in compliance with MSA protocols.
  • Maintains precise records of all shipments and generates daily shipping reports and forecasts for upcoming shipments.
  • Ensures the shipping area is clean, organized, and adheres to safety standards at all times.

Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent, with experience in a shipping environment and strong communication skills. Familiarity with WAWF and DoD shipping processes is preferred. Ability to learn swiftly, perform well under pressure, and meet strict deadlines is essential. Experience in a fast-paced shipping and packaging environment is necessary. Strong organizational skills, excellent memory, and attention to detail are required. Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn Visual Manufacturing software are important.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Quality Director, Shipping Manager, and Supervisor.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Strong attention to detail and the capacity to concentrate for extended periods are necessary. Hearing ability should be within the normal range.

Work Environment: This position operates on the second shift. The work environment characteristics described here are typical of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. While performing job duties, the employee typically works indoors but may occasionally be required to work outdoors. The employee may be exposed to wet and/or slippery conditions and is required to wear safety attire or protective gear daily. Regular interaction with powered industrial trucks is expected. The employee must be capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines. Noise levels in the work environment may occasionally be loud.

Position Type: Full-time position requiring 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with overtime expected based on production needs. Regular attendance is a critical job function.
