Are you interested in a role that involves supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment? In this position, you will deliver customer assistance for on-site installations, repairs, and maintenance of photolithography semiconductor machinery primarily in Hillsboro, Oregon. Comprehensive training will be provided for a duration of 1-3 months.

This role necessitates a full-time presence at your designated office(s)/worksite(s)/territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure equipment operates within factory standard specifications.
  • Guide customers in the effective operation and upkeep of the system equipment.
  • Act as the company representative for customer interactions regarding assigned projects, including installations and significant component replacements.
  • Conduct complex repair maintenance or unit replacements following factory protocols, both independently and collaboratively.
  • Offer technical assistance to customers, addressing inquiries related to operational procedures, equipment issues, and other technical challenges to minimize downtime and foster positive customer relationships.
  • Identify and communicate equipment errors and performance updates to facilitate troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of activities and provide regular reports.
  • Deliver training to customer personnel to ensure proficiency in service and operations.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians in the field to troubleshoot and service equipment.

Qualifications:

Please note: This is a customer-facing role, requiring adherence to customer policies and protocols, which may include COVID-19 vaccination and other related measures.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience (such as technical training, military training, or technical school) along with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience or knowledge in optics, lasers, software, robotics, precision mechanical skills, or chemicals is essential.
  • Familiarity with the Linux operating system is preferred for system operation and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient hands-on mechanical skills are required.
  • Experience with electronic testing tools is necessary.
  • Able to work independently on equipment and collaborate with other engineers in challenging situations.
  • Additional experience or knowledge in optics, lasers, software, robotics, precision mechanical skills, or chemicals is advantageous.
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior customer support experience is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours is required.
  • Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment for the majority of the day (including wearing full cleanroom attire, facemask, gloves, and safety glasses).
  • Domestic travel may be necessary (a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required). As this position involves driving for company business, compliance with company safety guidelines and policies is essential.
  • This role requires continuous physical effort, including standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motions, and lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted. Lifting more than 25 pounds requires assistance. Employees may need to work at a computer terminal for extended periods. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Mental alertness is crucial. Employees must demonstrate ongoing knowledge of Haz/Com regulations and requirements. Must be able to work in a cleanroom environment, which includes wearing protective clothing. Employees may be exposed to atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures (within OSHA standards).
  • Domestic and international travel may be required.
