Job Summary

The Staff Accountant is a key member of the finance team at UHS, responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of all payroll functions, accounts payable, and month-end journal entries. Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll, including receiving and auditing time sheets, maintaining accurate records of PTO, and verifying payroll reports.
  • Accounts Payable: Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable system, ensuring timely payments to vendors in accordance with terms stated on invoices.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, including monthly reports for the controller, and ensure accurate reconciliation of vendor statements.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including tax deposits and other financial obligations.
  • Communication: Interact with corporate accounts payable and other departments as required, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of accounts payable/payroll experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, with a working knowledge of personal computers, payroll/accounts payable systems, and MS Office.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
