We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Homeland Security Specialist. This position will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of regional homeland security plans and policies.

Job Overview

The COG Department of Homeland Security and Public Safety has an immediate opening for a Homeland Security Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise, planning, and coordination support to regional stakeholders.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires strong communication, analytical, and project management skills. You will work closely with emergency management directors, law enforcement officials, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective homeland security strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitating meetings with high-level stakeholders to discuss homeland security initiatives
  • Drafting and preparing reports, fact sheets, and other documents on topics related to homeland security
  • Coordinating and tracking action items and decision-making processes
  • Leading or assisting in the development, maintenance, and review of regional plans and policies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as homeland security, emergency management, or public administration
  • At least 3 years of experience in a related field, with a focus on homeland security and emergency management
  • Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
