Cybersecurity Engineer for Homeland Security Enterprise

BayFirst Solutions, a subsidiary of Versar, Inc., is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to support the Department of Homeland Security's Enterprise Engineering Division (EED) within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
This candidate will be part of a high-functioning team responsible for strengthening DHS enterprise and HQ networks through cybersecurity countermeasures. The successful candidate will work closely with network and security engineers, data center specialists, ISSOs, industry vendors, and DHS stakeholder groups to provide strategic and tactical direction on security compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining and improving network and security capabilities, including modernization and emerging technologies
- Providing technical support for designing, building, and upgrading network and security systems
- Ensuring the network security architecture aligns with federal and DHS architectural guidelines
- Offering performance engineering and network management support, including monitoring using ITO tools and technologies
- Guaranteeing the security tools and infrastructure are available and operational from the perimeter down to the endpoint and data itself
Requirements
- At least six years of professional experience in an IT Services environment, providing technical support with a focus on security compliance for federal networks
- Prior experience with NIST FIPS Standards, Contingency Plans, Network Infrastructures, Security Impact Analysis, Privacy Impact security Assessments & Analyses, Standard Operating Procedures
- Experience in developing Cybersecurity Process Improvement Roadmaps and optimizing cybersecurity processes
- Experience in RMF, risk mitigation, vulnerability assessment, and continuous improvement
- Experience with migration and integration to/in the cloud and Strategic Plan Development
- U.S. Federal government consulting experience preferred
- Ability to learn a complex and dynamically changing network quickly
- Capacity to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Past experience within the Department of Homeland Security or other government agency is preferred
- U.S. citizenship required and eligibility for a DHS EoD is required for consideration
Education and Certifications
- BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Cyber Security, or equivalent experience
- Desired certifications: CISSP, CCSP, CISM, GSLC, CISA, CASP, or equivalent
