Position Overview

This role is integral to the Client Services division within the Enterprise Technology & Services (ET&S) department, requiring exceptional customer service abilities alongside robust technical knowledge. The individual will be tasked with delivering IT assistance and services to faculty, staff, and students, ensuring a high standard of care and attention.

Key Responsibilities

This position involves collaboration within an on-campus team to offer technical support to the university community through various channels, including in-person assistance, remote support tools, and direct interactions in offices or classrooms. The role encompasses a wide range of technology support functions, including:

  • Providing End-User Support and Desktop (Endpoint) Support.
  • Conducting basic Audio-Visual (AV) troubleshooting and support.

Essential Duties

The responsibilities include:
  • Deploying, monitoring, and maintaining both Windows and Mac hardware and software.
  • Resolving network and printing challenges.
  • Managing the lifecycle of computers and IT assets, including configuration and replacement.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • An Associate's degree with four years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with two years of experience, or a combination of education and experience totaling six years.
  • Proven expertise in both Windows and Mac operating systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with endpoint management systems, such as Active Directory and Configuration Manager.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to assist users in a courteous manner.
  • A valid driver's license.

Preferred Skills

Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:
  • Experience with Azure/Intra Active Directory and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with technology certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA A+, or Microsoft Fundamentals.
  • Experience in mentoring or coaching younger individuals.
