Mental Health Counselor II-AOD Position

The University System of New Hampshire is seeking a skilled Mental Health Counselor II-AOD to join our team. This role will provide individual and group psychological counseling and crisis response to students, consultation to faculty and staff, campus outreach, and support other counseling center needs and projects as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counseling services to students.
- Offer consultation services to faculty and staff regarding psychological issues affecting student mental health.
- Participate in emergency on-call rotations and individual supervision/consultation with the director.
- Provide outreach and support for campus as needed/requested.
- Assist with other duties assigned by the Director, including committees and projects.
- This position also includes AOD responsibilities, which involve:
- Serving as Counseling Center liaison to the Frost House/Conduct Office for BASICS/IMPACT planning and facilitation.
- Coordinating AOD programing and outreach, including classroom presentations and first-year orientation.
- Maintaining documents on the shared drive to support completion of assessments and reporting for students court ordered for AOD services.
- Ensuring necessary supervision to maintain licensure as a NH Master Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (MLADC).
- Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or a related discipline.
- Two years of full-time licensed counseling experience in a mental health agency or counseling center.
- NH License or license eligible as a mental health professional.
- Computer skills as required by the department for necessary reporting and electronic communications.
- Specialization and/or certification in areas such as LADC, Disordered Eating Specialist, or EMDR.
- Technological aptitude, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and experience with or a willingness to learn Titanium, CCAPS, and time management software.
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion.
- Recent and relevant clinical experience with students, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
