Role Responsibilities:
As the Emergency Services Clinical Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in training, administration, and fostering teamwork on the floor. Working closely with the management team, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality medical services to enhance both client and patient experiences. Your duties will include:
  • Scheduling and training staff.
  • Promoting a collaborative environment among team members.
  • Identifying gaps in protocols and processes.
  • Communicating updates regarding protocols, organizational news, and staffing changes.

This position consists of approximately 70% technical responsibilities and 30% administrative tasks.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal Clinical Supervisor is an experienced Veterinary Technician with strong leadership abilities, empathy, and excellent time management skills. Your primary focus will be on managing patient flow while overseeing the operations of the emergency department during your shift. You are expected to lead by example, serving as a charge nurse and performing necessary administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise clinical support teams to ensure effective patient care delivery.
  • Provide comprehensive patient care and assist with various duties such as diagnostics and treatment.
  • Plan and direct the care of emergency patients.
  • Assign responsibilities to the ER team based on individual competencies.
  • Monitor patient conditions, implement interventions, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain knowledge of equipment setup and usage.
  • Initiate emergency support measures and ensure patient safety.
  • Enforce safety regulations and hospital policies.
  • Educate staff on equipment usage and safety procedures.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of patient care supplies and equipment.
  • Address concerns regarding patient care and report them appropriately.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Trainer for onboarding and training of new hires.
  • Manage scheduling for emergency teams and approve timesheets.
  • Work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an AVMA-Accredited Veterinary Technician Program.
  • Minimum of 4 years of emergency veterinary experience.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in veterinary medicine.
  • Current licensure in the state or ability to transfer an out-of-state license.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to new situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong prioritization skills.

Schedule Requirements:
Three 12-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation availability.

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is based on experience, starting at $28/hr, with an additional $2/hr shift differential for eligible shifts. Ethos Veterinary Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer matching, paid time off, and more.
