Windward Animal Hospital is a premier veterinary practice dedicated to delivering outstanding care to our beloved animal companions, including those with feathers, scales, or fur. We are on the lookout for a committed and empathetic LICENSED Animal Care Technician to become a vital part of our team.

As a Licensed Animal Care Technician at Windward Animal Hospital, you will be instrumental in assisting our veterinarians and ensuring the health and comfort of our animal patients.

Our clinic has a focus on exotic species and rabbits, and during our low-cost spay & neuter events, candidates must be adaptable, efficient, and thrive in a fast-paced atmosphere. We work diligently on these special days.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries, ensuring a safe and calm environment for our animal patients.
  • Conduct routine tasks such as gathering patient histories, measuring vital signs, and administering medications under veterinary supervision.
  • Collect and analyze laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and fecal specimens, for diagnostic purposes.
  • Monitor anesthesia during surgical operations and assist in post-operative care, including wound management and medication delivery.
  • Provide compassionate handling and care for animals, ensuring their comfort and emotional well-being throughout their time at the hospital.
  • Maintain precise medical records and document all treatments, procedures, and observations promptly.
  • Educate pet owners on topics such as medication administration, post-operative care, and general wellness practices.
  • Assist with inventory control, ensuring that necessary supplies and medications are available for daily operations.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to uphold a clean and organized workspace, including the cleaning and sterilization of equipment.

Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a related field
  • Confidence in your professional abilities
  • Experience with exotic animals is a plus
  • Strong communication skills
