Program Officer

DT Institute is seeking a highly skilled Program Officer to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the overall project management from award through closeout, including contractual compliance, financial management, and project personnel and subcontractors oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to overall project management, including contractual compliance, financial management, and project personnel and subcontractors oversight.
Provide grant quality assurance, control, and compliance, with guidance from the PM, Grants Manager, and Contracts Administrator as required.
Assist with drafting, branding, and archiving project deliverables, including communication pieces like success stories, reports, work plans, etc.
Prepare basic grant requests and concurrences, including to the grants officer representative and grants officer, for program-related costs.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related field, including International Relations, Political Science, Government, Economics, Business, International Development, or relevant work experience.
3-5 years of project support/management experience, minimum 2 years with an international development organization.
Experience working on winning proposals for the U.S. State Department, USAID, and other major public sector donors.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including delivering formal and informal presentations and drafting and editing deliverables.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
Attention to detail; good organizational and prioritization skills.
Experience working in Sudan or other countries in East Africa is preferred.
Budget development and management skills.
Proven experience with MS Office applications.
Willingness to mentor junior-level staff.
Willingness to travel and work overseas on short-term technical assignments, sometimes at short notice.
Fluency in English; language ability in Arabic is desirable.
