Job Title: Private Sponsorship Program Officer

U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) is seeking a Private Sponsorship Program Officer to support the Welcome Corps program. The successful candidate will work closely with Private Sponsorship Groups (PSGs) to provide guidance and oversight throughout the 90-day sponsorship period.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and oversight of PSGs to ensure successful resettlement of refugees;
  • Provision of pre-arrival and post-arrival mentorship to PSGs;
  • Development and implementation of measures to mitigate the risk of sponsorship breakdown;
  • Development and implementation of policies and strategies to ensure the safety of refugees;
  • Collection and review of PSG reports;
  • Coordination with the Community Sponsorship Hub (CSH) and USCRI's R&P and other refugee programs;
  • Recruitment and training of PSGs;
  • Documentation of lessons learned to inform further development of the Welcome Corps program;
  • Development of public communications and engagement with the Refugee and Social Services Division team.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in social work or a related field and one year of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with at least three years of relevant experience;
  • Experience working with refugee-serving programs or related programs aiming to increase access to critical resources for immigrant or other underserved populations;
  • Experience providing training and technical assistance, recruiting and mobilizing volunteers, and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders;
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to travel domestically a few times per year.
Training and Development:
  • Satisfactory completion of USCRI's Orientation and Program Trainings;
  • Completion of additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources or required by the Welcome Corps program.
