Job Title: Principal Hardware Development Electrical Engineer

SpaceX is a pioneering company that aims to make humanity a multi-planetary species. We are actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Hardware Development Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical hardware systems for our spacecraft and launch vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical hardware systems, including circuit boards, power supplies, and communication systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical hardware with software and mechanical systems.
  • Develop and implement testing and validation plans to ensure electrical hardware meets performance and safety requirements.
  • Work with suppliers to source and procure electrical components and materials.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 12+ years of professional experience in electrical hardware development, including design, development, and testing of electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit analysis, electronics, and electromagnetism.
  • Experience with design and development of electrical hardware systems, including circuit boards, power supplies, and communication systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with design and development of electrical hardware systems for spacecraft and launch vehicles.
  • Knowledge of ITAR regulations and experience with export control procedures.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems.
