Job Title: Principal Program Manager - Hardware Fleet Engineering

Microsoft is seeking a highly skilled Principal Program Manager to lead the Hardware Fleet Engineering team. As a key member of the Cloud Infrastructure and Engineering organization, you will be responsible for defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale, and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and be accountable for Key Fleet Health metrics with high visibility and a customer-facing impact.
  • Identify top issues and provide clear committed execution plans.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables, and manage the project timeline, budget, and resources.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and status reports, and communicate project status to stakeholders and management.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to identify customer requirements, risks, and dependencies.
  • Identify, drive execution, and E2E verification plans to make and meet business commitments.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to architect and build highly scalable and reliable solutions for fleet uptime initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure systems meet significant quality, reliability, and service level requirements for a cloud environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 3+ years of technical background in cloud computing, modern server architecture, SoC architecture.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience of technical leadership as a Program or Product manager or software engineer, platform architect, or validation architect, or a lead system/chief engineer, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Capable of technical deep dives into platform design, verification flows, operating systems, networking, and storage.
  • Customer engineering, portfolio management, and validation experience.
  • Technical background in cloud compute (specifically virtual machine interrupt, drive reboot).
