Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures to patients. You will work closely with our medical team to ensure accurate and timely results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients and operate nuclear medicine gamma imaging systems.
  • Perform diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures, including SPECT, PET, and CT scans.
  • Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans and interpret results.
  • Ensure radiation safety and quality control measures are in place.
  • Provide excellent patient care and communication.
Requirements:
  • Certification in nuclear medicine technology by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (N).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move patients as needed.
