Job Overview

Position: Buyer/Purchasing

The Buyer/Purchasing role at Alltex Staffing & Personnel is essential for acquiring goods and services while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality assurance, and prompt delivery. This position entails assessing suppliers, negotiating terms, and managing inventory to align with the company's operational requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement and Sourcing:
    • Evaluate and identify potential suppliers and service providers.
    • Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with vendors.
    • Stay informed on market trends to adapt purchasing strategies.
  2. Order Management:
    • Issue purchase orders based on inventory needs and demand forecasts.
    • Monitor and expedite orders to guarantee timely arrivals.
    • Address any order-related issues, including discrepancies and delays.
  3. Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key suppliers.
    • Evaluate supplier performance and tackle any issues that arise.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to enhance quality and operational efficiency.
  4. Inventory Control:
    • Oversee inventory levels to meet the company's operational demands.
    • Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory and shortages.
    • Conduct regular audits and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  5. Cost Management:
    • Analyze purchasing data to uncover cost-saving opportunities.
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives without sacrificing quality.
    • Balance cost considerations with the quality of products and services.
  6. Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and industry standards.
    • Maintain precise records of purchases, contracts, and supplier interactions.
    • Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities and financial metrics.
  7. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with internal teams to understand their procurement needs.
    • Communicate effectively with suppliers, management, and stakeholders.
    • Engage in cross-functional teams to support organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience as a Buyer or in a comparable procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Working Environment:

  • Office setting with occasional visits to supplier locations.
  • May require some travel for supplier meetings or industry-related events.
