Job Overview

Position Summary: Responsible for efficiently and accurately retrieving items in accordance with customer orders.

Location: Batavia, IL

Compensation: $18.85 per hour with potential to earn $21.57 per hour after one year.

Work Schedule: 3PM to 11:30PM, with mandatory overtime as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve all customer orders following the established picking standards set by management.
  • Identify the correct product and quantity from the shelf, transport it to the verification area.
  • Basic computer navigation skills are necessary.
  • Utilize voice picking and RF scanning technology.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the stockroom and specific product areas.
  • Ensure accuracy and efficiency in repetitive tasks.
  • Comply with all safety regulations, including the handling of hazardous materials.

Qualifications:

Must possess functional literacy to understand product codes and numbers for accurate order fulfillment. The ability to perform essential duties effectively is crucial, and reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or GED is required; one to three months of related experience or training is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and communicate effectively with the voice picking system.

Mathematical Skills:

Capability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to apply common sense to execute simple instructions and handle standardized situations.

Work Environment:

Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts and loud noise levels while performing job duties.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with arms. Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting of up to 60 pounds is necessary. Ability to move heavy items exceeding 1,000 pounds with appropriate equipment is essential.

Vision Requirements:

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

System Access:

Operational access to PkMS and vPack Voice Picking System is required.
