We are seeking a **Aviation Finance Associate** to join our team.

**Position Overview**
The Aviation Finance Group (AFG) operates under BNP Paribas Group, specializing in financing solutions for both aviation and intermodal sectors. This group serves as a consultant, originator, and arranger for financing transactions secured by transportation assets, including aircraft, containers, and railcars. AFG is a key player in the transportation finance market, providing expert advice and executing transactions for a diverse range of clients, from airlines and leasing companies to institutional investors such as private equity firms and asset managers.

With extensive experience in aviation finance, AFG tailors financing solutions through a variety of structures, including structured term loans, secured revolving credit facilities, aircraft warehouse financing, tax-efficient lease arrangements, and export credit solutions. Additionally, the team collaborates with Global Markets to offer comprehensive debt capital market products, including Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), Enhanced Equipment Trust Certificates (EETCs), and Private Placements.

**Revenue Generation**
The revenue streams for AFG include fees from structuring, underwriting, and upfront services, as well as margin revenues. The team also facilitates cross-selling opportunities across various departments, including Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Derivatives, Fuel Hedging, Equity products (ECM), Cash Management, Securitization, and Leveraged Finance.

**Key Responsibilities**
As an Associate in AFG, your responsibilities will encompass:

**1. Origination**
- Assist in structuring debt facilities, including commercial loans, ECA guaranteed financing, revolving credit facilities, warehouse debt, and tax-efficient lease structures secured by transportation assets.
- Prepare marketing materials and origination pitch books.
- Conduct credit risk assessments for lending proposals directed at airline and leasing clients, and prepare Greenlight Memos and credit proposals in collaboration with credit and coverage teams for committee approval.
- Develop financial and cash flow models in Excel for prospective structured debt transactions.
- Support senior originators in loan origination and execution efforts.
- Collaborate with account relationship managers to compile comprehensive credit proposals for senior risk management review.
- Participate in negotiations of asset financing term sheets and legal documentation.
- Assist the syndication team in their loan syndication efforts.
- Facilitate transaction execution and closings by coordinating with middle office, back office, and agency teams.

**2. Portfolio Management**
- Monitor existing transactions and conduct regular reviews of exposures to uphold the overall credit quality of the portfolio.
- Collect valuations and prepare analyses and projections.
- Prepare waivers and select amendments as necessary.
- Collaborate with the restructuring team to manage non-performing loans and safeguard the bank's assets.
- Prepare reports for Risk Corporate and Senior Management, including the Paris Head Office.

**3. Research and Reporting**
- Conduct economic and industry research on transportation assets and prepare documents to inform Risk Corporate and other teams about industry trends.
- Assist senior team members in preparing fee reports, budgets, and pipeline production.

**Qualifications**
**Education / Experience:**
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics, with at least two years of experience in credit analysis within aviation or transportation sectors.
- Strong credit and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Proficiency in building financial and cash flow models in Excel and assessing risk and future financial performance.
- Experience in drafting and presenting memos, including credit proposals and client presentations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written).

**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Preference for candidates with experience in the transportation sector and/or a minimum of two years in banking.
- Master's degree in Finance or CFA designation.
- FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses.
