Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. As a key member of our Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of our missile defense system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain system-level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of desired capabilities.
  • Elicit, derive, and decompose requirements to lower-level subsystems and components.
  • Maintain system and component baselines in a requirement management system.
  • Define relationships between internal and external components.
  • Communicate system-level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships to diverse groups of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users.
  • Solve complex problems that require regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Requirements
  • An active Secret clearance is required to start, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • 9 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in a STEM concentration or related field, or 7 years of experience with a Master's degree in a STEM concentration or related field.
  • Must be flexible and able to support various tasks on short notice.
  • Must possess the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining physical, functional, and technical requirements baselines necessary to describe desired capabilities of an evolving MDS Command & Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) system.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in mission analysis with skill in developing use cases, sequence diagrams, and SysML modeling in support of MBSE.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.
  • Possessing a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher is highly desired.
  • Experience with other Space Domain and Missile Defense Systems is highly desired.
  • Experience with Agile Methods and Epic and Feature definition is a significant plus.
  • Skills in logical architecture modeling, interface definition, and knowledge of cyber security concepts and security accreditation are highly desirable.
