Job Title: Peer Counselor

Compass Health is seeking a compassionate and experienced Peer Counselor to join our Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT). As a Peer Counselor, you will provide peer support services to clients under the supervision of the Program Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients in stabilization, recovery, self-advocacy, and development of natural supports
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to clients to take responsibility and actively participate in their own recovery
  • Serve as a mentor to clients to promote hope and empowerment
  • Assist individuals in identifying and accessing community and natural supports, including Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Treatment, peer support groups, and avenues to meet basic needs
  • Provide reassurance and support to the family/friends/natural supports of the client
Requirements:
  • Current Peer Counselor Certification preferred
  • Experience as a Peer Counselor preferred
  • Lived experience with a behavioral health or substance use diagnosis required
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License including vehicle and appropriate insurance, if applicable
