About the Role

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Specialist, you will provide Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) services to consumers, supporting them in their recovery journey and promoting a culture of hope and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide ACT services to consumers, including teaching Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and providing one-on-one support.
  • Travel to various appointments and support consumers in stressful situations.
  • Teach coping skills and community integration skills, and assist consumers in acquiring Medicaid, Social Security, housing, and other benefits.
  • Facilitate Peer Support Groups for individuals with co-occurring and substance abuse disorders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services in the electronic database and review daily service encounters and progress notes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Peer training program and active Peer Specialist certification from the DC Department of Behavioral Health (DBH).
  • 2 years' experience working in a social services environment.
  • Valid local driver's license and clean driving record.
