The ideal candidate for this role is someone who believes in the potential of every student. As part of a dedicated Special Education team, you will employ creativity, patience, and a growth-oriented mindset to assist educators in integrating communication skills into their teaching practices. We are looking for professionals who are passionate about recognizing and celebrating the diverse backgrounds of our students and their families. You will play a crucial role in ensuring equitable access to education by addressing socio-emotional needs, supporting literacy across various subjects, utilizing culturally responsive teaching methods, and accommodating diverse learning styles.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct communication services to students with identified disabilities, adhering to eligibility criteria set by relevant laws.
  • Develop instructional materials and lesson plans tailored to support students' communication needs in both classroom settings and therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with general education instructors to ensure the effective implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and communication objectives across all educational settings.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements in the delivery of services, supports, and modifications as outlined in students' IEPs.
  • Gather and analyze data on student progress, adjusting instructional strategies and supports as needed to facilitate achievement of IEP goals.
  • Oversee timelines, engage with parents and staff, and complete necessary documentation and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • A valid California Speech Language Pathology Services Credential, Clinical Rehabilitation Credential, or California Speech Language Pathology License.
  • Clinical Fellows are encouraged to apply.
  • A strong commitment to serving students from historically underserved communities, with a focus on those who are first-generation college aspirants.
