Position Overview

This role is primarily field-based, and candidates should reside within a reasonable distance from the main city.
Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, financial goals, and marketing objectives to meet or surpass established targets.
  • Develop pre-call planning objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to enhance sales effectiveness. Skillfully address objections, misunderstandings, and concerns to secure logical and reasonable actions to close each sales interaction.
  • Actively strive to meet customer needs and expectations, fostering trusted relationships to create mutually beneficial agreements between AbbVie and its clients.
  • Formulate and implement a call strategy that meets defined call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency with key clients to maximize access and sales potential.
  • Continuously enhance understanding of customer requirements, market dynamics, competitors, and disease states, sharing valuable market intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to ensure alignment and optimize brand strategy execution.
  • Distinguish AbbVie's value proposition to assigned healthcare providers and identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with disease state experts and advocates to enhance brand performance.
Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, pharmacy, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A proven history of success in sales with strong presentation abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive landscapes, recognized as an expert resource by relevant stakeholders. Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools; possesses strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • Proactively identifies customer styles and behaviors, adapting the sales approach accordingly. Utilizes insights to develop effective sales strategies.
  • Functions effectively within a matrix environment.
  • Offers innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities and address challenges.
  • Contributes impactful ideas for the broader organization and anticipates and responds to changes.
  • Influences peers and is regarded as a credible and respected role model among colleagues. Fosters collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams.
  • Demonstrates leadership by example; consistently exhibits positive behaviors and peer coaching through dynamic and challenging environments.
  • Documented success in leadership and support roles with increased responsibilities at district, regional, or organizational levels.
  • Preferred: A successful track record in sales performance within relevant therapeutic areas. Experience in the commercial pharmaceutical industry, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing is advantageous. Proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing, is preferred for non-English speaking regions.

  • The compensation range outlined below represents the potential base pay for this role, based on the job grade at the time of posting. Individual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, and the company may ultimately offer more or less than the posted range. This range is subject to future adjustments.
  • We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick leave), medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan for eligible employees.
  • This position is eligible for participation in our short-term incentive programs.
