Job Summary

Perdue Farms, a leading provider of premium proteins, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Lead to oversee the repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment and facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of vendors and workers, ensuring the efficient operation of our plant and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibit expertise in performing regular adjustments, calibrations, and repair work to meet department demands.
  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and needs, adhering to OSHA Lockout/Tagout and Company safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with production supervisors to address equipment performance issues and recommend necessary modifications or system malfunctions.
  • Maintain accurate log books by applying mathematical skills to calibrate machinery to performance standards.
  • Provide hands-on training and direction to lower-level mechanics and techs in properly servicing, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
  • Lead and monitor the work of other mechanics and techs, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 4 years of experience in maintenance operations, with proficiency in math and analytical skills.
  • Ability to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.
  • Knowledge of math principles related to maintenance activities.
  • Ability to verify dimensions and diagrams for assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Ability to determine clearance of parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Position requires frequent movement throughout the plant and facilities.
  • Exposure to wet and moist floors, metal and plastic grating surfaces, and varying temperatures and humidity levels.
  • May be exposed to chemicals used in poultry and food processing.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment as directed by the Company.
