Position Summary:
The Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of the facility. This role involves executing routine and preventive maintenance tasks for various machinery within the plant. Additional duties include collaborating with fellow maintenance personnel and addressing urgent repair needs as they arise.
Responsibilities also encompass supporting the installation, upkeep, and evaluation of Research and Development apparatus linked to initial production, troubleshooting within the plant, and ongoing enhancement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process work orders and carry out daily preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established protocols and timelines.
2. Repair, service, calibrate, and assess equipment, including air systems, refrigeration units, hydraulic tanks, compressors, and condensers.
3. Efficiently assemble and disassemble machinery while adhering to high standards of maintenance and safety.
4. Skillfully utilize both hand and power tools while maintaining rigorous safety and maintenance protocols.
5. Operate forklifts, hoists, and other heavy machinery as required.
6. Promptly report or rectify any issues identified during the shift and communicate with maintenance management for guidance or coordination of tasks.
7. Uphold the integrity of and comply with procedures and processes established by management.
8. Acquire knowledge of all systems relevant to the facility to facilitate career advancement and increased compensation.
9. Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
10. Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Skills and Competencies:
1. Above-average mechanical aptitude in servicing precision machinery components.
2. Fundamental electrical knowledge.
3. Familiarity with maintaining certification for operating various material handling equipment and servicing complex refrigeration and mechanical systems.
Demonstrated Skills:
1. Effective communication with all levels of personnel, both verbally and in writing.
2. Strong observational and analytical skills for reporting, troubleshooting, and diagnosing issues.
3. Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal oversight.
4. Consistent and punctual attendance is essential.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to lift, push, and pull weights up to 60 lbs.
2. This role necessitates walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, and handling.
3. Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in plant maintenance is preferred.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent, or demonstrable capability to perform essential job functions.
