Distribution Engineer

At Leidos, we're seeking a talented Distribution Engineer to join our Power Delivery Services Team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing electrical distribution systems for our utility clients.
About the Role:
- Develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems
- Collect field data to assist in developing work packages, with approximately 25-30% of your time spent in the field
- Review work provided by clients and assess requirements of scopes
- Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis, guying calculations, and voltage drop and flicker calculations
- Provide engineering support during construction and conduct root cause analysis of outages
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to utilize a personal vehicle for customer-related travel
- Willingness to perform both field and office work, with the ability to work in outdoor environments
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant experience working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company performing electric distribution design engineering
- Proficiency in distribution design tools such as BOUD, Pole Foreman, Spida-Calc, O-Calc, or similar
- NESC Standards, ESRI, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation, and GIS experience
