Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Central Sterile Processing Tech to join our team at The University of Vermont Health Network. As a critical member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for the decontamination, inspection, sterilization, and assembly of instruments and equipment used in our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Decontaminate and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are safe for use in patient care.
  • Inspect and test instruments to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Prepare and package instruments for sterilization and storage.
  • Operate sterilization equipment and maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely delivery of sterilized instruments and equipment.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on best practices in sterilization and infection control.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Central Sterile Reprocessing certification preferred, but not required (CVMC provides on-the-job training and certification).
  • Instrument Specialist certification and Certified Endoscope Reprocessor certification preferred.
  • Relevant experience in a healthcare setting, with a focus on sterilization and infection control.
  • Basic computer skills and excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
