Position Summary:

The Kitchen Steward and Sanitation Specialist at Monument Resort plays a crucial role in ensuring that the culinary workspace is meticulously cleaned and upheld to exceptional standards. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities beyond just dishwashing, including maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchen areas, managing waste disposal, and assisting in food preparation as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently scrape, rinse, and load all dishes and utensils into the dishwashing machine.
  • Thoroughly wash, sanitize, and organize all kitchenware, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Exercise caution with cast iron cookware, avoiding machine washing.
  • Regularly clean and maintain the dishwashing machine to ensure optimal performance.
  • Consistently empty trash receptacles throughout the facility.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of firewood for cooking purposes.
  • Conduct daily cleaning of grease traps to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Keep the kitchen and dining areas tidy by sweeping and mopping as necessary.
  • Ensure all handwashing and prep sinks are cleaned at the end of each shift.
  • Polish and organize dishes, silverware, and glassware prior to storage.
  • Support chefs in food preparation tasks when required.
  • Perform additional cleaning tasks as directed by kitchen management.
  • Adhere to Monument Resort's policies and procedures.
  • Plan and execute daily operations in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory for cleaning supplies and collaborate with the culinary team.
  • Report directly to the kitchen management team.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and flexibility in scheduling, including availability on weekends and evenings.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Food Handlers Permit.
  • Minimum age requirement of 16 years.
  • Previous experience is not mandatory.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Reliable transportation is preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Willingness to bend, kneel, and reach as necessary.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
