Job Summary

The Chief Medical Officer at La Familia Medical Center is a full-time position responsible for administering direct patient care and serving as the Chief Medical Officer/Leader. The role involves a 40% commitment to direct patient care and 60% to medical administrative duties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures governing clinical practice standards, organization, staffing, regulatory, and contractual compliance. They will also oversee the Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance program, ensuring it addresses all clinical programs, is up-to-date, and carried out across all medical service sites.

The Chief Medical Officer will serve as the primary community medical advocate on behalf of La Familia Medical Center, its patients, and key issues around healthcare delivery and health status improvement for medically underserved populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of Quality Manager and supervision of evaluation
  • Practice standards integration and Peer Review program addressing quality of care and accuracy of coding
  • Provider Recruitment and Medical and Behavioral Health Provider Staffing and Practice Plan
  • Advising Board of Directors on credentialing practices and practitioner reviews
  • Maintaining a personal professional practice of medicine and carrying out duties in accordance with parameters
Requirements
  • M.D. or D.O. with current licensure in good standing and no history of discipline
  • Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or OB/GYN
  • Minimum five years successful medical practice
  • FQHC Experience; Leadership
  • EMR Savvy; Understanding of Value-Based Purchasing/Risk-Based Contracting
