Chief Information Officer

This is a key leadership role that oversees the development and implementation of information technology strategies to support the mission of the New Mexico Public Education Department.
Job Summary:The Chief Information Officer will be responsible for leading the IT team to design, implement, and maintain the department's technology infrastructure, ensuring that it meets the needs of educators, students, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement IT strategies to support the department's mission and goals
- Lead the IT team to design, implement, and maintain the department's technology infrastructure
- Ensure the security and integrity of the department's data and systems
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement shared data systems
- Provide technical guidance and support to educators and stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience in IT leadership or management
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead and manage a team
- Experience with data governance and data management
This is a full-time position that requires regular attendance and participation in meetings and events.
