Job Summary:

Assist the practice/department in maintaining a patient/customer focus, supporting the delivery of high-quality care, and sharing a passion for patient and customer-centered care. Strive to create and maintain a culture of safety and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and interact with patients in a pleasant and professional manner, on phone or in person.
  • Listen carefully and communicate clearly with patients to ensure understanding of patient's request.
  • Analyze problems from the customer's point of view and learn/anticipate individual patient needs.
  • Document needs, as appropriate, in EPIC.
  • Establish positive relationships with patients by demonstrating knowledge of patient history, compassion, and responding to individual needs.
  • Handle stressful patient/customer situations appropriately and deliver seamless patient/customer service.
  • Ensure patient/family confidentiality, safety, and security.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the patient experience, including areas identified in patient satisfaction surveys.
  • Ensure communication and collaboration with clinical staff and fellow co-workers to serve patients to the best of their ability.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years Medical office experience or customer service experience
  • Computer knowledge and skills
  • Ability to speak English for a business setting
  • Customer-focused communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Critical thinking and multi-tasking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Thorough knowledge of third-party insurance coverage guidelines
  • Must successfully complete/pass EPIC scheduling training/tests
  • EMR skills
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
