Job Summary

The University of Massachusetts Medical School seeks a highly skilled Financial Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for providing diversified and complex financial and administrative support to our grants and contracts administration department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Administration: Provide oversight and analysis of departmental budgets, ordering, and spending, including travel and credit card management.
  • Grant Support: Assist with limited grant submissions, analyze, process, and communicate grant proposal and award amendments and modifications within our system.
  • Financial Reporting: Compile new award setup and modification data for use in analysis, reporting, forecasting, and graphical display.
  • Subaward Management: Update tracking systems for subaward invoices, monitor status of invoice receipt/payment dates, and create and maintain procedure documentation.
  • Communication and Training: Generate monthly communications to departments for training requirements, expiring grants, and provide research and administrative support for projects.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate and recommend improvements to current operating procedures and policies.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 0-1 years related business experience.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, excellent interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills, and demonstrated time management and problem-solving skills.
