Key Responsibilities- Enforce laws and regulations, maintain public order, and respond to emergency situations
- Provide community policing services, including crime prevention and education
- Conduct fire safety inspections, provide fire suppression services, and participate in emergency medical response
- Participate in search and rescue operations, and provide support to other emergency responders
- Pass a pre-employment physical fitness test and medical examination
- Complete the 8-week VPSO Basic Training at the Alaska Law Enforcement Training Academy
- Obtain Emergency Trauma Technician certification and Rural Fire Protection Specialist certification
- Meet the requirements for a law enforcement position in the State of Alaska
- A competitive salary range of $70,700.00-$81,315.00 DOE
- A comprehensive benefits package, including housing and utilities
