Job Overview

We are looking for a committed and trustworthy Delivery Driver/Shop Technician to become a part of our organization.

As a Delivery Driver/Shop Technician, your primary responsibilities will include the punctual and secure delivery of fire and life safety apparatus, alongside conducting maintenance and repairs on equipment within our facility. This position demands a blend of driving expertise, technical proficiency, and a strong adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery Driver Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport fire and life safety apparatus to various destinations.
  • Load and unload equipment, ensuring items are secured and safeguarded during transit.
  • Strategically plan delivery routes to enhance time and fuel efficiency.
  • Maintain precise delivery records and acquire necessary signatures and documentation upon delivery.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any concerns to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to all traffic regulations and company policies during deliveries.
  • Collaborate with both field and office staff to ensure fulfillment of technician material requirements.

Warehouse Responsibilities

  • Experience in inventory and warehouse management, purchasing, and procurement is preferred.
  • Process various inventory transactions: track and transfer items in the inventory system, handle technician requests for inventory, and receive incoming purchase orders.
  • Operate a forklift (training available).
  • Efficiently manage multiple requests simultaneously.
  • Enhance overall warehouse efficiency and maintain a continuous improvement mindset to address inventory challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of driving experience in a commercial setting.
  • Preferred experience in the fire and life safety sector.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Willingness to spend 1 to 2 nights away from home as required.
  • Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with maintenance procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Dependable, reliable, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
  • Good communication (written/verbal), organizational, time management, and basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to drive and work in various environments, including both outdoor and indoor settings.
