Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at the Naperville Donor Center. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy collections of whole blood and apheresis products, interacting with donors and coordinators to provide exceptional customer service, and working cooperatively as a supportive member of the team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares collection site and performs setup, including technology systems.
• Performs donor screening, mini-physical, and phlebotomy.
• Observes donors for reactions, provides reaction care, and assists other staff in handling reactions if needed.
• Conducts automation, including recognizing and responding to automation reactions, and recruits and converts donors for automation.
• Rebooks donors for future donation appointments.
• Understands and performs to all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Recognizes when the customer is distressed and responds appropriately with tact.
• Creates a safe environment for donors and staff members.
• Treats donors with customer service excellence, presenting a positive image.
• Responds to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints with a timely and complete response and escalates to leader when appropriate.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of job-related experience required.
• 1-3 years relevant people-facing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of standardized work routines and methods, general facts and information, and/or the use of simple equipment, machines, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other department manuals.
• Must have basic mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to apply judgment to written or oral instructions.
• Ability to organize work to provide productive workflow.
• Has strong attention to detail.
• Must have good communication skills, including the ability to provide feedback to peers, and flexibility to work independently and with a team.
• Ability to learn/utilize computer applications, such as Ceridian, Hemasphere, Oracle, and HemaTerra.
• Driver's License preferred.
• SBA - Spanish Bilingual Assistance Certificate preferred.

What We Offer:

• $17/hr+ based on experience.
• 8 weeks paid Phlebotomy training.

• Shift differentials for evenings/weekends.
• Evenings (after 6:00pm): $1.50/hour.
• Weekends: $2.00/hour.
• Skill-based % increases offered for advanced phlebotomy skills training.
• Additional Bilingual (Spanish) increase available after passing certification exam.
• Schedule (must have availability during Naperville Center hours): Monday: 11:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Saturday: 7:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Sunday: 7:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
